For two nights we stayed in Keswick, one of the main tourist towns in Lake District. It's a pleasant little town and a perfect base for trips around the Lakes I think.

It was only us and the sheep

As we were here before Easter it was still quite quiet in Keswick. I can imagine that it can get really really crowded here in summer. We sat at the lake in the evening and enjoyed the quietness. The only sounds we heard we the helicopters trying to fight the fell fires and little sheep searching for their mums.

fish and chips in the open air ! nothing is better ! l really enjoyed your pages, they brought back many happy memories, in my teens a group of friends tried to have a drink in all the pubs, l dont remember the end of that evening............
