York - Beautiful and Blurred

by sabsi - last update: Jun 26, 2003

York minster and many daffodils
York was the first place Steve and Susan took me to on my two week tour of England recently. And what a nice start it was!

York is a beautiful old city - surrounded by a city wall and full of beautiful streets and buildings.
York minster
York minster is probably the main attraction of York. It is a beautiful cathedral - actually I think it's the most beautiful church I have ever seen. It's huge and you will get great views of it from the city walls. Standing in front of it it's impossible to get the whole minster onto one picture!!!

At sunset we stood here for ages taking pics of the minster. I convinced Steve and Susan to stay for just ten minutes longer because it would get even more beautiful all the time. The 50 pics I took looked like postcards on my camera display ... and when we got "home" I was so disappointed that they were all blurred :( Just in case you were wondering what the title of my page is all about...
I also enjoyed a walk along the river Ouse. There's lovely bridges here and nice parks. Unfortunately there is only one pub with outdoor seating here though. It would be the perfect place for outdoor meals and drinks!

Anyway, follow me on a tour of all the great things of York you will see when you have the best tourguides around show you the city!

Pros:"The minster, the old streets, the walls, the shops"
Cons:"The fact that there isn't more than one pub at the riverside!"
In A Nutshell:"A wonderful city with a beautiful minster and lots of atmosphere"

When did you visit York Minster? There has not been a charge for photographs lately.
