Dingle town must be one of the strangest places I have ever been to. The whole tourism industry here is built around Fungie, the dolphin living in Dingle bay. There is boat rides, snorkeling trips, dolphin t-shirts, dolphin jewelry, dolphin everything.

I was here first in 1990 and there were a few boats chasing Fungie around but not much else. When I came back in 2002 I was surprised, they had built a new marina, there were Fungie tourists everywhere, tourist shops etc etc - the whole place had changed completely.

When in Dingle you should definitely explore beautiful Dingle Peninsula. Amazing views, scary roads and sandy beaches... you will find all of this here.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Breathtaking views, a cute big dolphin and great pubs!
Cons:On summer weekends this place is flooded by tourists!
In a nutshell:One of my favourite places in Ireland!

Have returned recently from a holiday in Dingle- I loved this bar. Would love a bar like this near me and will def return not just for foxy johns but dingle its a first class place, great people, service -everything!!!

Very good Ireland page. Loved the trip to Skellig story. In all the years I ahve been going to Kerry I've never done it. May be next time
