Porvoo - located not even an hour by car from Helsinki - is a wonderful day trip destination. Finland's 2nd oldest town has a beautiful old town full of beautiful wooden houses and it gives you this certain "time travel" feeling I always enjoy so much.

Pros and Cons

Pros:The old town with it's beautiful houses and streets.
Cons:Haven't seen the new parts of town so I didn't find any ;)
In a nutshell:A must when in Helsinki!

A must see activity in Porvoo: Brunbergs factoryoutlet. Brunberg is a chokolate factory not far from town centre. You can taste all different sweets and after a few round you don't need any lunch. Check their homepage: Brunberg.Fi/eindex (english)
