Climb the hill

Apparently there are not only crazy people who jump of the large hill in Lahti - there also are about as crazy people here who climb the jump.

Equipment: I guess you better take a rope.

Swimming

We actually came to Lahti to go swimming in the pool right under the biggest ski jumping hill. Unfortunately the weather was terrible the day we were here - 10°C in August! We decided to be chickens and leave the swimming gear in our bags. The poor school kids were still swimming though. But then again the Finns like to swim in frozen lakes so where's the problem....

Equipment: Your best fur swim suit. Maybe it'll help not getting cold ;)

Directions: The swimming pool is right under the biggest (K120) hill. In winter you can't see it. It's basically located where the jumpers land.

Lahti is the home of Finnish skijumper Janne Ahonen, winner of the 2002/ 2003 4 hills tournament. If you are lucky you might see him around the Urheilukeskus (Sports centre)...
