Spend less time in KK and head out as quickly as possoble : that's our advice to first timers and nature enthusiasts.
On your trip back to KK (where most probably u'll catch your flight out), you can set aside one or two days to be in KK.
The islands around sabah are GREAT for snorkelling. So anywhere you go it's a good deal!
It's so nice to be in touch with nature to observe orang utans... definitely recommended :)
This was at Sepilok around feeding time, when they come out and we are able to see them.
Otherwise a walk through the national park area would also reward you with many a sighting
Along the Kinabatangan river, locals will tell you if they have been hearing the wild (read: LOUD) elephants thumping around. It was exciting for us to bank in one an edge of the river adn climb the hill to see these fellas. Lovely creatures!
- Pros:Great weather, Excellent Marine life, lovely smiles and GOOD food!
- Cons:Transport is not that great but if you hire a car and DIY it's best
- In a nutshell:Each time I go back there, I end up seeing new things :)
