Colleville-sur-Mer lies close to the sea of Normandie. It is apparently a simple village, with no attraction. Instead, it is very known in France, Britain, Canada and the USA (but also elsewhere) for hosting the American war cemetery in France. 9386 soldiers, many unknown, are buried in this green and fresh area, looking at the sea. It is really a must see place, even if it isn't pleasant. Thank you, Americans! I will never forget your sacrifice to liberate my Europe! |
