Enfielding through North india

by Marjos - last update: Feb 11, 2004

Ferris Wheels

The first part of my enfield trip i joined Ferris Wheels on their Himalaya tour. This was more than marvelous, this was downright brilliant.

The most beautiful sceneray, awesome roads, great company and all superb organized. The Enfields are what i call 'bikes with a character' and the feeling to ride one though the indian himalaya is not to be described. If you ever done it, you know what i mean.

We went roughly delhi-manali-leh/ladakh - kashmir and then back via dharamsala.

This was so Good, i got hooked, i went to the bikeplace and got myself a bike to continue travelling on my own on the bike, after the himlaya trip ended.

Solo thru cow country

I tied my luggage on the back of my enfield and set of from Delhi half August.

I rode thru north india to varanasi. Can (and will if you dont stop me) hours and days of all the things seen, people met. Travelling alone lets you meet people who you'd never would have met. And so does travelling on a motorbike. imagine what happens if you combine the two.. What a life. And what a gift to have been allowed to do this.

Varanasi - Nepal - Darjeeling- Nepal- Tibet - Nepa

you'll get the picture when you read the title.. went from varanasi to nepal and from there on to darjeeling, and back, tibet , and back, and all on the Enfield.

Ended all in all in Delhi halfway through november, someone was waiting for me in thailand, else i figure i prolly would have been still wandering thru India. What a country. Intens, colourful, more a constitution of a zillion little countries and cultures and habits.. Sometime too much, sometimes really tough, but one of my favorite alltimers. So Good!
