Mt Fuji or Fujiyama

Trip to Japan

Traveled to Tokyo through Anchorage via Japan Airlines in March 1971.
Returned to SF via Hawaii on new 747 Pan American Jet.

Saw the three American Astronauts, Armstrong, Aldrin, and Collins
in a parade at the Osaka World's Fair just eight months after their amazing trip to the moon.

Energetic People

When I was in Tokyo in 1971, photographers would snap my picture probably because
I looked like an Albino Giant. Many had never seen an American Blond of second gereration Norwegians.

Wouldn't it be great if they built a 'Japanese' Hotel in Las Vegas with the Pagotas, Cherry Blossoms, Geisha girl costumes, a Bullet train, etc? Dick_Loudon's idea is to add Pacinko machines. Yes! Any other ideas?

Dr.Yoshiaki Nakano and wife Junko and children, Kyoko and Yuichiro and tell them about VT and send Best Wishes from Margie Bang. (They stayed at my home for a year in Santa Barbara.)

Japan has 4 Main Islands

Japan is about the size of California but in 1995 had 123,700 people
which is about half the entire population of the USA.

There are 4 main islands and about 3k smaller islands.
Japan has the world's biggest fishing industry with more than 400,000 vessels.

So fish and rice is the diet to stay slim, right?

After World War II Japan adopted a democratic constitution. Japaneses farmers produce much of the nation's food, despite the shortage of farmland. About half the usable farmland is givin over to rice. Fruit and vegatables are grown and dairy

Margie, What a wonderful photo of a rare lenticular cloud dimpled by the peak of Mount Fujiyama. You were in the right place at the right time. High, cold & fast circular winds aloft form them, & the mountain no doubt aided this particular formation. Doug

"Bing" is the Chinese word for "ice", however in your Chinese friend's name it is more likely a different word that sounds the same but means "soldier" instead. Nice to meet you! I really like the Japan themed Las Vegas hotel idea.

How did you get the air clear and that cloud to pose like a hat? Thanks for stopping by my Beijing page and I'll promise not to eat duck in Santa Barbara
