Williamsburg is a large town situated in East Virginia, however the old town has been preserved as a historial and interesting place to visit. Some buildings are reproductions and some have been restored. It is not just an open air type of museum but people actually still live there.

In 1699 the capital of Virginia changed from Jamestown to Williamsburg and remained the capital until 1780 when it was transferred to Richmond. Williamsburg was named after the reigning King, William of Orange.

    I have thouroughly enjoyed your Williamsburg Page. The pictures and information are amazing. I would like to make one tiny suggestion though. The picture labled Colonial House is actually the Armistead House and was built much later in the federal style.

    It always the same when travelling with twens: finding something like Busch garden, so that they will be happy also.
