The Big Apple Here We Come! After years of wanting to visit New York, we finally made it!
Our son Joe, was off on a ski trip with school to Canada, and I kept on teasing him that while he was away me and his dad would take advantage of some time to ourselves, and that we too would go away. At first it was just a joke but then we decided hey, why not!
I will add that we bought standby tickets and therefore we were not absolutely certain that we would get on the flight that day. However, our son was flying off the same morning so we met all his classmates and teachers, saw them all off and then went to a different terminal to get our plane two hours later. I was a nervous wreck, if it hadnt been 11am in the morning I may have gone to the bar and got a drink! However, all my prayers were answered, we got on the plane and to our utter delight we were upgraded to first class! Gosh, what a way to travel. Its pure luxury!!!!
So it was New York here we come!!!! :)
The weather was really cold but one of advantage of going out of season is you dont get the queues!
We both thought New York was brilliant and are really glad that we went. Even though it was exhausting, with all the walking.
I hope you like my pics and enjoy my page as much as I have making it.
Well here goes :-) |
| | Brooklyn Bridge Most of the photos on this New York City page are from our visit in February 2002, however, we have since visited NYC two more times. One night in the summer of 2002 and two nights the summer of 2003. I have therefore added a few more photographs and tips. |
