Zürich Shopping Tips by bugalugs

Chocolate

Switzerland is famous for its chocolate and I dont suppose there are many visitors who leave without buying some.

I actually dont eat chocolate but we did buy some for our son. It is rather expensive though.

Sprungli is the name of a shop which sells chocolates, you see them around the town and also at the airport.

We did however visit a store called Co-op and we bought some Toblerones here. In fact they were a lot cheaper than at the airport.
There is a Co-op near to the main railway station and we also went in one at a small railway station near to the Opera House.

The Co-op had quite a selection of different kinds/makes of chocolates and although their packaging probably wasnt as fancy as you would get in some shops, the prices were a lot less expensive.

Closed!!!!!!: Bahnhofstrasse

I might add that in Switzerland shops in general do not open on a Sunday.

You will find a shopping mall underneath the railway station and we found those shops open, as we did at another smaller station nrear to the Opera House.

But along the Bahnhofstrasse everything was very quiet.

If you like shopping then this is the place to go, that is if you have the money to go with it.

Bahnhofstrasse begins next to the railway station and leads up to the lake. It is 1.4km long.

Designer shops of every description and the prices to match!!!

Also the chocolate shops called Sprungli were founded here.
