If you are visiting Ieper then only 40 miles north east, about a 45 minute drive is the lovely city of Brugge, with its canals and such wonderful buildings.

Brugge is a very easy and compact place to get around on foot. Although you can take a canal boat ride, which we did, or even hire a bicycle. We stayed in a really nice Guest House that offered Bed and Breakfast. Please see my Brugge page
