Bronte Country

Haworth is a small village not far from Bradford, West Yorkshire, situated above the Worth Valley on the Pennine Moors. It is famous for its connection with the Bronte sisters who wrote most of their famous works while living at the Parsonage, while their father was the Parson of Haworth Church.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Although times have moved on from the Bronte time, this village still retains a quaintness.
  • Cons:Parking can be difficult especially in the summer, weekends and bank holidays.

Haworth looks lovely and so English. I have loved the Bronte sisters' books ever since I learnt enough English to read them. I'd love to see your page on York. And as it is your Birthday soon Many Happy Returns and many more trips. Greetings, Ewa

Thanks for the cool pics and narratives. Visiting a Bradford friend in '97, I "made" her take me here, had to see the Brontes and the Moors, and looked for Heathcliff, too! Time has passed Haworth by, that's for sure...sigh...
