We love Lincoln City

We have only been to Lincoln City three times so far, but I am sure we will visit again in the future. In 2011 we went for a trip to the Oregon Coast, we stayed 3 nights in Nehalem, 3 nights in Depoe Bay then we made our way inland where we stayed another 2 nights near Portland. On the way from Nehalem to Depoe Bay we stopped at "D River State Park" in Lincoln City for a walk on the beach after lunch. What a beautiful place...we were immediately sold. Maybe it was because the sun really came out for the first time this trip, but I think it was the beautiful waves and this amazing big beach that really attracted us.

Since we have a little girl who was just over 1 year old during our first trip we decided that we might go back the year after (2012) and stay here for a whole week. Our daughter would be just over 2 years old and she would enjoy the beach, the water and the surroundings.

We kept ourselves to our promise and rented a beautiful condo right at the beach in Lincoln City in the summer of 2012. We mainly enjoyed the beach, the tide pools between the big rocks in the area and some outlet shopping in the area. We had a wonderful time and we returned to the same place in the summer of 2013! We stayed at the same condo and had a wonderful time again!

A little bit more about Lincoln City

Located in Lincoln County, Lincoln City is located on the scenic Oregon Coast at the 45th parallel, situated 11 feet above sea level. It is bordered by 680-acre Devils Lake and the Coast Range on the east and the Pacific Ocean on the west. Lincoln City boasts 7½ miles of beautiful, clean sandy beaches, the Salmon River to the north and the Siletz Bay and River to the south. Lincoln City enjoys a mild maritime climate, has a thriving retirement community and is a popular tourist destination.

Lincoln City is also known for the shortest river in the world called the "D River". The once-nameless river, known as the "shortest river in the world" was listed in the Guinness World Records as the world's shortest river at 440 feet (130 m). The river flows from Devils Lake, under U.S. Route 101, and into the Pacific Ocean, entirely within the city limits of Lincoln City. The D River State Recreation Site off Highway 101 is home to two of the world's largest kite festivals in the spring and fall.

Beautiful waves

We've seen quite a few places along the Oregon Coast and have never seen waves as big and beautiful as they were at Lincoln City. When the sun is out the colour of the water is kind of greenish and looks so beautiful. I enjoyed waking up to those gorgeous waves every morning during our stay in Lincoln City!
