Montenegro has everything : mountains, the sea, beaches, culture, castles and old houses, rivers ,seafood and people. It`s a beautiful place, though not the cleanest. 95% of Montenegro is mountains, so there`s a lot to climb. There are sandy beaches, rocky beaches, pebble beaches and even concrete beaches. Because there is the sea, they also have seafood. There are a few palm trees in some places, and because of the hot weather, it hardly snows when it`s winter and even in August its about plus 30-38 degrees. If you would go to Montenegro once, then the best place is probably Ulcinj, because it`s by the seaside. Ulcinj is the busiest at night, when the city awakes. Montenegro is citty life combined with nature, so everyone will love it here. It`s definately worth a visit !
The old city has a great view of the sea and of the two tiny islands in the sea. There are lots of old houses , restaurants and pizzerias. There`s also a museum in the old city, the entrance fee is only one euro. A sandy beach called Mala Plaza is very close and there are no cars allowed so it`s a very quiet place. There are also the remains of an old fortress in the old city. It`s guaranteed you`ll have a nice time here !
The further you go away from the beach into the city, the more shops, houses and cafeterias you`ll find. In my opininon the beach area is better, but it depends on your taste. In the city there`s also a post office, but the funny thing is it doesnt look like a post office at all. If it wasnt for the signs, I would of thought it was a souvenir shop ! There is also a very small and cosy cafeteria close to the post office called `caffe Paris`. The shops you can find most of are Chinese shops, Photo shops and souvenir shops.
Clackers became very popular and I`m sure everyone in Ulcinj has one. Anywhere you`ll go in Ulcinj, you`ll hear the clackers, especially at night. You`ll find clackers in most shops.
Because in Ulcinj there are so many people on the streets, most shops are open until 10-11.
- Pros:The seaside, the city at night, the old city, the mountains, the views and some locals
- Cons:the mosquitoes at night and day, the rubbish and hundreds of people on the beach

Hello there, I look forward to seeing all your photos, tips and your video of the concrete beach, you should write also under Ulcinj as location for your tips there...:)
Welcome to VT. This is a great page you started with so keep up the good work. I like the refreshing way you write about your experience.
Excellent start! You really stayed in a lovely location in the old town as we could see for ourselves a few days ago!
Zuto apartments looks a nice place! I agree with you that Ulcinj is a very pleasant city but the beach has not hundreds of people, it has thousands !
