The only castle in Eastern Europe, built on the island, a wonderful example of Gothic architecture.
Trakai castle is on an island of Lake Galvë. It srated to built in XIV century. And of course there was a reconstruction in XIX century.

November - February : 10.00 - 17.00 (Monday - Closed)

Interesting is that during the day on the courttake place thematically battles, like ot wa sin old ages. This is very interesting, young people in armors .

When I visited Trakai, it was just day after my Bday. And there happened the best thing that I could imagine, that I could wish. We decided that we should go to some restaurant fot lunch. And when we entered to this restaurant ( I have no idea what was the name ) we just saw that there sit famous Russian ballerina Maja Pliseckaja! We saw that she, her husband and her friend decided to go away. And this was my time! Time to say ''Hello'' to her! And that is what I did :-)
I just said Hello, are you Maja Pliseckaja? And she said '' Am i look like Maja Pliseckaja''? I said ''Yeeeah. Can I take picture with you''? ''Yes, shore''. And then her friend take a picture, this picture :-)

This was the best gift to my Bday, you know :-)

As I know she lives not far or in Trakai.

So you never know where and how you can mee someone!

• Pros:Beautiful and old castle.
• Cons:Town is small, not many places to see.
