""Explore the Land of Ancient Civilization"" silenttraveller's Profile
We are all travellers by birth because all human beings do travel in their life span, but for some it become passion and they always desire to explore the world,as i said Pakistan has got it,s unique geographical location on the map of the world,to some it appears to be the land of arms, terrorists, nuclear weapons, violent people. But this image is only portrait in the westren media just to sell news items the real image is much more different from mentioned above.
Pakistan is enriched with all sort of natural resources,it has got highest mountains, snowy glaciers,Sea,fascinating culture, great history and ancient civilization, that is what real image of Pakistan is ,which unfortunately still not explored by the world.
Every province of Pakistan has got its own culture, traditions and history, but the province of KP which was previously northwest frontier province,it is enriched with highest mountains, glaciers, ancient civilization and a wonderful histroy.
Recently i went to chitral to spend my summer vacations, there i decided to visit the ancient valleys of kalash people, lets discuss briefly about kalash people, culture, civilization, religion, history and festivals.
The city of peshawar has got its own tradition and culture,it has been a gateway for traders, conquerors and nomads in the olders times, the city of peshawar has got tremendous historical background. The history of peshawar is 2000 years old.
The Mughals,Sikhs and British ruled this city as it has been the centre of all activities from business to military adventures. The ancient name of the city was pushkalwati then city was renamed purshapura,Buddhism was introduced in this city before arrival of islam, after the arrival of Mughal in 1530 in peshawar, after the occupation of the mughals many muslims sufis, architects resided in peshawar and it was the the city of flowers or the lotus land. The pukhtoon empire was established in 1747 by ahmed shah durrani, then the city was ruled by pukhtoons.Majority of the poplulation in this province are pukhtoons that is why recently it has been named Khyber Pukhtunkhwa.
This photo of shethi house is the blend of gandhara art & architecture, that was first build by haji ahmed gul in 1882,these houses belong to the famous sethi family who use to be the traders in 19th century, engage in business from central Asia to Peshawar. The homes are designed by the inspiration of the bukhara architect, each homes consists of Tahkhanas(basement),Balakhanas(uperstory)) and fountain.ceilings and walls are decorated with mirror work and windows and gates are with woodwork.

CULTURE : Kalash have nique and amazing culture, they believe in various gods and worship other deities (gods) to protect theirselves from different sort of dangers.
It is believed that their religion is based on proto indo european religion simillar to the tweleve olympion gods of ancient greece.
A beautiful view of the Mohabat khan mosque which is a 17th century mosque was build by mughal governor Nawab Mohabat Khan in 1670.
Amazing Dresses of kailash women, usullay all the women in kailash valley wear black dressess,as i have been told by a local it is more cultural than religious,i did not see even a single women wearing other than black dress.
KALASH PEOPLE : To some historians and anthropologists kalash are the decendants of Alexander the great and to some their culture is more of an Aryans origin and to some locals they got Greek origin but it is yet not confirmed which theory is more authentic this mystery is yet to be solved.
