GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK was established in 1914 and was originaly a forest reserveestablished in1893.The park contains the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River.
The great chasm has a maximum width of 18 miles (29 km.) within the park and it is more than 5000 feet deep (1500 meters).
