We did a road trip up to Sanfran from LA - it was fun we went in a convertible - it was SO hot that we had to stop and put our heads in fridges at the gas station!!!

For the record, this is harris Ranch, more than 100 miles from SF on Interstate 5. For scenery between LA and SF, drive up the Pacific Coast Hwy (Rte 1) and/or Rte 101 but plan for more time.
