I visited Banff National Park twice in October 2000 and July 2005.

Banff National Park is part of The Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks UNESCO World Heritage Site. The national parks system in Canada was the one of the first in world when it was established in 1911 with a view of protecting spectacular landscapes, flora and fauna, wildlife habitat along with social and cultural history.

The main highlights at Banff National Park are:

Lake Minnewanka
Banff
Johnston Canyon
Lake Louise
Moraine Lake
Icefield Parkway

Majority of visitors base themselves either at Banff townsite or at Lake Louise village.

• Pros:A wonderful National Park with so much to see and do!
• Cons:Can get very crowded at the hot spots in the summer!
• In a nutshell:Surrounded by The Rockies!
