The medieval city which I was looking forward to the most on my cruise. From the modern port, we took a scenic boat ride to the old harbour via the Lapad Peninsula. We then undertook a walking tour where we visited the Rector's Palace, the cathedral, then the Maritime museum and St John's Fortress and wandered down the Placa and its back streets. We enjoyed the historic buildings and architecture of the old town where we saw the Onofrio's large fountain and Franciscan Monastry. There was the Pila Gate entrance where we caught the bus outside for the journey along the Zupa coastline...where we were so high up we saw the old town down below!
- Pros:The highlight on my cruise!
- Cons:The Old Town gets very crowded with tourists!
- In a nutshell:A medieval gem on the Adriatic Coast!

A really lovely page with great photo's! I always like it when I can come to an old town like Dubrovnik via the sea, it gives such a different aspect to the town!
