Salisbury is a medieval city and famous for the 13th Century Gothic Cathedral which dominates the city's skyline. Salisbury may not have that many attractions in comparison to other historic cities in the UK but the Cathedral and the famous Stonehenge pushes Salisbury in the top rankings for a city break.
On Cathedral Close, across from the Cathedral, there are a number of historic houses including Mompesson House and there are some interesting museums including Salisbury & South Wiltshire Museum and The Rifles (Berkshire & Wiltshire) Museum.
Salisbury offers a twice weekly market; great shopping and also an Arts and Entertainment scene. The River Avon runs through the city and there are some pleasant riverside settings and green parkland for everyone to enjoy.
Whilst is Salisbury you can join the Stonehenge Tour where you have an opportunity to visit Old Sarum, a Roman Hill Fort; Stonehenge, a World Heritage Site; or simply enjoy the Salisbury Plains and the Wiltshire countryside.
I was in Salisbury in July 2010 and had a wonderful time. I would love to return there sometime in the future.

Great tips and pics, We are going to Salisbury in April so i have added them to my trip planner
I should definitely try to spend a day in Salisbury next time I'm in England, I'd love to visit the cathedral and do the roof-top tour like I did in Winchester :o)
