"Perito Moreno" Perito Moreno by spidermiss

We stopped overnight in this Patagonian town before continuing our journey up the Ruta 40 to Bariloche. Perito Moreno was the biggest town we had arrived to since leaving El Calafate and El Chalten.

When we arrived in the evening, I had a wander along the main street before it got dark.

I would not mind spending more time in this town on a future trip and appreciate more the feel of a Patagonian town with its history. The town does not offer much in the way of attractions (except for some historical buildings and a couple of plazas) but a lovely respite from travelling long distances on the Ruta 40 or having a break from the Tourist Centres of El Calafate, El Chalten and Bariloche.

• Pros:A typical Patagonian Town!
• Cons:The town isn't given much justice due to being just an overnight stop over!
• In a nutshell:A perfect respite from travelling on the Ruta 40!
