Where is Fujikawa?

Fujikawa is the 37th lodging station of Tokaido road between Akasaka(#36) and Okazaki(#38). On December 8, 2012, I joined the Tokaido Walking event touring around former Fujikawa-shuku area.
**Former Fujikawa town amalgamated into Fuji City is in Shizuoka prefecture.

Hiroshige landscape being restored

Until recently Tokaido landscape was endangered by city planning, urban development and so on. Luckily at Fujikawa the movement to restore the Old Tokaido landscape helped save the remaining old houses and some of the landmarks are reconstructed.
