Sumatakyo Onsen

Kawane-honcho was born in 2005 with the amalgation of former Nakakawane and Honkawane towns. Population is 7,900 and it is one of the sparsely populated towns in Japan. The town's top tourist destination is Sumatakyo Onsen, a spa resort best known by the scenic spot during autumn foliage season during November. The spa resort is also known as the base for the hiking for southernmost part of Minami Alps and the mountain area is exclusive for experienced hikers who can read a map, take a camp on their own. SENZU is the final destination of the Oigawa line. To get to Ikawa you will have to take another train Oigawa Ikawa line which is known as "one of the most thrilling train lines in Japan".
