You are the first VT member I have come across, who has done Kala Patthar trekking other than me! I did it back in 1978 on 31st December! I trekked from Kathmandu for 7 days to reach Namche then for another 6 days. Unfortunately, then I had no camera and no proper dress or equipment but I had courage to do it! Thanks for your pictures , I re lived the memory with your pictures again!
You are welcome, love to go back to Everest but i am still planning to get to Sikkim within the next couple of years, so i suspect Everest will not happen. My goodness , you trekked from Kathmandu to Namche in 7 days---never known anyone to do that. Jiri to Namche is a challenge for most people in 7 days
Yes, I did it when I had no money but good friends in a group and lot's of will power. We almost walked dawn to dusk! I trained for two months to acclimatise with the very clod climate as we wanted to celebrate New Year up there at Kala Pattar!
During my numerous visits to Nepal, I did Annapurna, Jomsom and many other places! In case you are coming to Sikkim, please let me know! I am also in love with Sikkim very much.
