This was the last city we experienced on mainland Europe. Was a real shame that my hubby was sick and I was feeling a little crap, we had been on the road for 3 weeks non stop and I was ready to get back to London to some familiarity! What was also a shame, was the way Amsterdam was sold to us by our tour director. Sex, sex, sex.. and some dope. That's it.
That is obviously not it, but unfortunatly that was the only side of Amsterdam that was portrayed to us. We didn't get offered the excursion of a walking tour through the old town or a canal cruise, just a sex show. But I guess that's culture in old Amsterdamage. Its just a shame we didn't have longer here so I could check out the real city, not just the one that is for the tourists. |

In a few hours I will be back here for my 5th visit !!- there is so much more to this place than sex and drugs - what a pity you were unwell and didn't get to explore more of this lovely city. |
