Selamat Detang Pulau Pinang!!

by alisonr - last update: Mar 23, 2004

I really enjoyed our week in Penang. Not as hot and humid as KL, and a much more relaxed and laid back atmosphere than Phuket in Thailand. The bartering and shopping is not such a hassle, everyone is very friendly and willing to have a joke and a laugh.
The beach at Batu Feringi is lovely and quiet, not full of hawkers, but does have a fair bit of activity near the hotels, from horse riding and water sports, mainly parasailing!
There are a lot of religions relresented on the island, from Chinese, Hindu, and the main one which is Muslim. Kek Lok Si Temple is just one of the many temples of many religions you can visit.
