<font face="Times Roman">Dear Management,
This is to acknowledge receipt of your Invoice dated 6 October, 2001, for which I am Grateful. The wedding Celebration held on your bespoke Premises was most memorable, and I have secured a number of fine photographs for the very Purpose, as the Events themselves pass into Oblivion. The Reception, held at last minute in your delightful Kasteel, was an alternate Venue; as the first Locale cancelled unexpectedly their Obligations a mere three Days prior to the Betrothal.
Upon completion of the forementioned Celebrtion, it was incumbent upon the guests to kill only three hours, with a selection of small cakes, teas and coffees, the open bar dispensed with delightful miniscule Goblets of Beer or Wine as is customary in the Netherlands. Famished for many hours, we were led at last to Table, whereupon a small salad with served; in one hour, a course of bread and butter was served. The main course was a Duck or Fowl preparation served with orange-sauce; I did comment upon its blandness and toughness: much to the silent and awkward appreciation of my fellow-guests.
Later, I was dispatched to a House in the Lemiers Valley where the Host had taken Ill and could not be bothered with entertaining. I secured a reservation at your delightful Kasteel-Hotel in its stead, and promised a 12:00 midday check-out time. At eleven o'clock in the morning, a House-Cleaner entered the Suite of Rooms, armed with an almighty vacuum-Cleaner and selection of the finest cleansing Agents. The aforementioned inquired as to my status, and entreated to an epithet. Moments later the telephone rang effected by your ever vigilant Reception, requesting my immediate vacation of the premises. The quaint, provincial manner of the staff did not go unnoticed; their Determination and Obstinance in the face of the Kasteel Bloemendal's Internal Contradiction was most Quaint. Strong words followed by both parties, as the Staff maintained and clung to their Assertion that a twelve o'clock check-out was only permitted on a Sunday rather than Saturday. At at twelve o'clock I did vacate the Rooms despite the phlegmatic demeanor of the Staff. I should have reserved another Night had the Service demonstrated itself in a befitting manner or in deed, manifested itself at all.
Yours Sincerely,
Cheefeworm van Tweenhuyfen |
