Szentendre looks like a mouthful but it is really one of the few Hungarian words you can understand. Any and every other Hungarian word is indecipherable and alien: A restaurant is a "vendéglő" or an "étterem"; a hotel is a "szalloda"; police are the "rendőrség", architect is a "építész " or even an "építészmérnök". A train is a "vonat"; a taxi is "Taxi" and Szentendre, once you break the code, is Saint Andre.. |
