"Stolberg" a Stolberg Travel Page by billus

Stolberg is one of those places no one knows about and no one goes to. Even the people who live there don't see it. Visitors, who come on shopping or basketball tournameents also do not know it has a fantastic historic core at the end of that intermianable shopping street. The town has a couple of factories and breweries which used slave labor in world war 2. The place was bombed by the American and British.

Snow in the Rheinland in 1995 with a view toward the St Lucia church. Before WW2 the tower was a spike-shaped tower, but was rebuilt with the exotic onion shaped affair after the war.

Wirtschaftswunderbar! Stolberg was rebuilt in a harmonious vernacular style. The castle was rebuilt in 1908 and again in the nineteen fifties, check the old photos here:
