First, the positives, because yes, there are -- if you are with a car, the location. If you are coming from Pena Palace, it is right at the end of the (one-way) road where you exit called Calçada da Pena with a huge parking place where shade below the huge trees afford relief on a hot day. And service is quick.
Otherwise, you won't come here for the food, unless there are other places available. Yes, there were 2 other restaurants nearby, but they were full when we came, so we picked Indian Palace. The naan breads were very oily, and didn't come with any sauce, the sauce for the meat filled pastry called chamuça was with so much artificial color, it looked like we were served with shocking green paint! The tandoori chicken was tasteless and hard, and worst was the lamb kebab which looked inedible, with so much red and pink coloring that it looked like a rubber toy, and practically tasted like one. And don't even try the carrot milk dessert, because it might turn you off carrots for life!
As to price, it was even more expensive than other Indian place I've been to elsewhere in Portugal -- places which I will not hesitate to recommend for quality and price! The only thing going for this place really is the location, otherwise for the quality of their food, a second visit is not even worth considering.
Favorite Dish: The lamb curry could pass.
Address: Praca Don Fernando II 3,4 Sao Pedro, Sintra
Comparison: more expensive than average
Directions: At the bottom of the street exiting from Pena Palace
Price: US$11-20
Rating: 1
Theme: Indian
