A Restored Picturesque Village

The beautiful village of Lefkara has been restored to its original condition and I urge every tourist or traveller who comes to the island
to include Lefkara as a ‘must visit spot’. I can assure, it is worth it!

It lies on the hills in the outskirts of Larnaca district, located ten kms off the Nicosia –Limassol highway in a distance less than 50 km from Larnaca, Nicosia, and Limassol.

You will love walking through its cobbled streets with the beautiful architecture.

The village is divided in two parts, - the upper and the lower Lefkara.

Lefkara Embroidery

Lefkara embroidery is done on pure Irish linen, and the families of Lefkara have been practising their art for centuries.

The Filigree Silverware of Lefkara

Silverware in Lefkara

Filigree silverware is made in Lefkara, and you will see much of it during your visit.

A village famous for its silverware, and as you walk through its narrow streets you will have the opportunity to see a number of them at work.
The art of silverware flourishes a lot in Lefkara.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Time seems to stopped over 100 years in Lefkara, the village with very little humidity and the best climate.
Cons:Found no cons to say for this beautiful village
In a nutshell:Lefkara is a living museum, charming and quiet. If you cannot stay there visit it at least and walk the narrow, out of the way alleys, experience the charm of yestrday.

I have relatives living here. My parents visit it often and the village is indeed worthvisiting. I hope to visit it too one day. A good guide.
