The trip began with a stay at Grampa Ninja's Bed and Breakfast. A clean, inexpensive place to stay, that offers a full breakfast, free wifi, beautiful common areas. They recently put in a nice pool. The Bed and Breakfast was originally built as a place for paragliders to stay. They are located very near a popular paragliding site in Caldera. If you want to learn how to fly you can sign up for lessons with Grampa Ninja. Or perhaps you want to just try a tandem ride. Grampa Ninja can coordinate that for you. I had the opportunity two years ago to go and it was fun. Of course I never thought I would, until I went to the site in Caldera as a spectator. The launch site was so beautiful – off the ocean and not real high. As I sat and watched paragliders take off with such ease, I decided to give it a try.

The big catch.

The following day we headed to Herradura, to the marina at Los Suenos. We took a sport fishing trip on a boat called the Predator (www.costadeepseafishing.com). I had never been deep sea fishing before so it was a special treat for me. The fishing was a little light – all the boats out had been experiencing this because of some recent out of the ordinary weather. But we managed to catch (and release) two sail fish. Definitely an experience I would recommend and definitely an activity I would do again.
