North of the South Island

At the head of Queen Charlotte Sound, nestled between the mountains and the sea is Picton. European settlement of this area began in the 1840s and many of the early buildings still grace the waterfront and wide streets of Picton.

Hi, how long does it take on the Lynx from Picton to Wellington? How much does it cost? Great info! Cheers, Pamela.

The Dog and Frog is the only place to eat in Picton where the food is more english than most places in NZ. The owners are very nice and have got time to talk to thier customers.Excellent all round.Great place to be. Colin Ellis 26.1.07 .U.K.

This really does look a pretty place. There's a small village called Picton near me, I wonder if the one in NZ is named after it.

Hello Rosie: Wow is Picton ever pretty, especially the sunsets. Perhaps we can meet at the "Dog & Frog Cafe" for tea and crumpets. HEHEHE. Hugs. Lori.
