What's worth a visit Anyone visiting the UK should look outside the cities of London, Oxford and Cambridge. There is much else to see. The with-it cities to visit at present are Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Leeds and Birmingham. The Millenium year saw a lot of brilliant cultural events all over the UK and this year, 2005, I have been particularly impressed with York as a cultural centre with tourist sites in the day and lots to do in the evenings (even in January) in the way of music, clubs, cinemas and restaurants. |
VT sites not too far from my own home My own home town is Stourport-on-Severn and has its own VT site. The Cotswolds consists of a number of small towns. Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Camden are two of these and now have their own seperate VT pages. |
Facts about the UK The Government in June 2004 has just released population figures for the UK in 2002 was just over 59.2 million. |

Nemorino Wed Feb 1, 2006 09:11 UTC Good idea to preserve varieties of potatoes, even if it does get a bit bleak in the winter. Maybe you can take another picture next summer, for the contrast. – Greetings from Frankfurt am Main. | uglyscot Mon Nov 21, 2005 00:35 UTC Potatoes, eh? .Memories still linger of tattie [potato] holidays in Scotland , and scrabbling in the earth [or mud] to clear my 'stage' before the digger came round again. My back aches with thinking about it. | ettenaj Sat Nov 6, 2004 18:36 UTC Interesting information, nice little page | deecat Wed Dec 17, 2003 01:27 UTC You are a gentleman and a scholar!
