Anyone visiting the UK should look outside the cities of London, Oxford and Cambridge. There is much else to see. The with-it cities to visit at present are Manchester, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Leeds and Birmingham. The Millenium year saw a lot of brilliant cultural events all over the UK and this year, 2005, I have been particularly impressed with York as a cultural centre with tourist sites in the day and lots to do in the evenings (even in January) in the way of music, clubs, cinemas and restaurants.

My own home town is Stourport-on-Severn and has its own VT site. The Cotswolds consists of a number of small towns. Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Camden are two of these and now have their own seperate VT pages.

The Government in June 2004 has just released population figures for the UK in 2002 was just over 59.2 million.
