Forest of Arden

Arden Country is Shakespeare Country, it can also be called the Forest of Arden. It is the country to the north of Stratford-upon-Avon and of course includes the village of Shottery with Ann Hathaways Cottage. However, Henley in Arden is 12 miles to the north of Stratford-upon-Avon. It is a delightfully overgrown village. We were a little surprised by it, as we have driven through it many times in an east/west direction and never a north/south direction. The main high street is wide and tree lined with what looked like some interesting buildings at the southern end.
