"Carpet town" Kidderminster by Galahad

Kidderminster Travel Guide: 13 reviews and 30 photos

For 500 years Kiddermnster was one of the UK's main centres for the production of high quality carpets. Sadly, most of the companies have closed their factories - installed their looms in underdeveloped countries, pay very low wages and have just left their HQ's in Kidderminster.

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:It is making efforts to spruce itself up
  • Cons:Sadly for most people it still looks very industrial

Are you still working on the Severn Valley Railway? I used to take groups to Birmingham every summer (because Frankfurt and Birmingham are partner cities), and the SVR was always one of our prime excursions. Ironbridge was another.

Very interesting tips! Severn Valley Railway seems to be attractive. Don't they make Polish delicious (and unique) bread there?
