If George hadn't been one of the destinations offered by South Africa's low-cost air network, we probably wouldn't have decided to go there. But we were keen to explore the section of the Southern Cape coast that wasn't easily accesible as a day trip from either Cape Town or Port Elizabeth, and almost by accident, discovered that George was a pleasant town with a glorious hinterland.
