Great that you found that old General Store (as it would be called in the US). That's the sort of place you can only find in museums over here.
Indeed Don - the General Store was the highlight of my trip! It had the distinct air of 'Little House on the Prairie' about it, except that the slightly bemused Wilhelmina was a good deal more polite and helpful than the poisonous Mrs Olsen!

Hi Cathy, when I discovered you have a page about a place called "Wuppertal" in South Africa, I had to read it :-) After all, I am living so close to the German Wuppertal! Great writing here, it really sounds like an old-fashioned and somewhat surreal place :-)
Was it founded by German missionaries or where did it get the name from?
