Like you, I loved Gustav Eiffel's railway station in Maputo, even though I also did not travel by train. (Train service was still erratic when I was there in 2001.) I didn't stay at a hotel because my daughter was living and working in Maputo at the time.
whilst i have not been to the Sister Hotels for decades, memories of the Grand Dames remain wonderful nostalgia ~ El Em was so tropical continentale ;-)))
