Man the city was named after...

Montemorelos (mon-te-mo RE-los), city (1990 pop. 35,508) and township, Nuevo Leon, N Mexico, in E foothills of Sierra Madre Oriental, on RR, and 45 mi/72 km SE of Monterrey on Inter-Amer. Highway (Mexico Highway 85); 25°12'N 99°50'W. Agr. center (oranges, sugarcane, pecans, cactus fibers, livestock). Known for yearly fiesta in July.
