Visiting Buenos Aires is overwhelming as any big city. Deciding where to stay and what to see could be challenging due to the variety of historical places and beautiful designed sites found in this cosmopolitan capital.

Among my preferences when travelling is to be part of the majority class, so I can truly experience local customs and culture. For this reason, my husband and I chose to rent a studio (flat) in between Balvanera and Microcentro, not in Palermo or Recoleta, where most of European and American tourists choose to stay. And our splendid surprise was finding ourselves in the middle of old theaters, used book shops, bookstores and cultural centers. It was perfect for us!

Visitar Buenos Aires pode ser estonteante como qualquer cidade grande. Tomar a decisão de onde se hospedar e o que ver pode ser um desafio, devido à variedade de lugares históricos e locais de bela arquitetura encontrados na capital cosmopolita.

Dentre as minhas preferências ao viajar está me tornar parte da classe social predominante, desta forma posso vivenciar os costumes e a cultura locais. Por este motivo, eu e meu marido decidimos alugar uma kitcnet entre os bairros Balvanera e Microcentro, em vez de em Palermo ou Recoleta, onde a maior parte dos turistas europeus e americanos se hospedam. E a nossa maravilhosa surpresa foi que estávamos localizados entre teatros antigos, sebos, livrarias e centros culturais. Foi perfeito pra gente!

• Pros:Subway system goes everywhere. / Good and cheap food, music, arts, transportation.
• Cons:Coackroaches everywhere, and in the apartments. / Restaurant open for dinner after 8 p.m.
