VC10 Flight

OK this is a bit of a cheat as I never set foot on South Georgia or the South Sandwich Islands, but I have seen them close up. During a seven hour flight in a VC10 (a 1960's British four engined jet liner/tanker/cargo plane) a 2900 mile round trip from Mount Pleasant Airfield, Falkland Islands.

Hey, you are forgiven for the overflight! I still cannot get over how Shackleton ever managed to hit this tiny spot after his amazing open boat voyage from Antarctica!!

Beautiful! Too bad it seems so hard to land on these islands, i would not mind go hiking there!
