Siempre Viaja Con Los Ojos Abrieto Looking back at Boston today, I wonder why I hadn't made it back as often as I did during my childhood. I spent many of my summers in Cape Cod with the occasional day trip into Boston and they were very pleasant memories.
Walking around this wonderful city helped me remember and appreciate certain things in my life. You don’t have to travel to a new city to see something new, you just have to see old ones with new eyes…
Some of these impressions are of my first visit back in 2003, since then I have travelled to this city many times and most recently in summer of 2008 with my babe, Ferni.
Back in 2003, I saw a familiar Boston as I hadn’t seen any city in a very long time. Maybe it was the fall foliage, the crisp blue sky, the kaleidoscope of colors, or something as simple as the company of new found friends.
Whatever the reason may be, I am glad that I had the opportunity to find it again…

| | Boston with my babe I love Boston and I had been talking to Ferni about how I had been wanting to get back up there with him and he decided to surprise me one weekend. He had never been to Boston so it was a really nice treat to be able to take him to a city that I love. He price lined the hotel (yay) and left the rest to me :)
I knew I wanted to meet up with Joann (Garrigodal here on vt), since we hadn't been able to hook up either in Boston or NYC and I got lucky, she was around this particular weekend. What a great person and a wonderful guide.
Although I had been to Boston many times, I had never made it to the North End and Joann was very happy to show us around. We didn't have an agenda, just decided to meet and walk and try to enjoy the city even though it was unbearably HOT!!
Ferni enjoyed his first trip to Boston and promised me we'd be visiting more often, what a great boyfriend!!

My Boston In 2003 I was invited to visit Boston for a VT Meeting. It would be my first return to Boston after more than 20 year abscence from the wonderful city. I had visited Boston many times as a child and remembered it being such a interesting place to be. I learned so much about history and would say it is why I enjoy American History so much.
I retured to Boston various times between 2004-2006 and then again with my most current visit in July 2008.
While I am in Boston I have some favorite places to visit and things to do no matter how long or short my stay will be.
Here is just a brief list of those places:
Walking along Boston Common and Gardens Enjoying the madness of Fanieul Hall & Quincy Market Strolling along the waterfront Stopping in to have a beer at The Black Rose Finding my way to Newbury for some shopping Having Ice Cream at PJ Licks Visiting some of the best museums in the country Walking with no set agenda around the city with someone I love! | | |

travelgourmet Tue Jul 28, 2009 04:15 UTC Janet, great Boston tips, I loved Boston, so did my wife. Newbury Street was a piece of heaven. Bought art in the galleries. Had great fun at many pubs and got a kick out of Dick's Last Resort. | JosueGonzalez Fri Jul 25, 2008 03:44 UTC I really agree on your comments of the Hyatt Regency Boston.
