Zara: Fashionable Women's Clothing

Name of Shop: Zara
I love this store. Zara is a "Spanish" chain store specializing in trendy economical clothing and accesories for women. The store carries a large selection of tops, pants, dresses, skirts, shoes and handbags and accessories. During my visit to Budapest, Zara was having a huge sale so naturally I had to stop in and find a few items. I always find some great clothing here, especially tops.
What To Buy: I purchased a few t-shirts, a sweater and a much needed belt. Their prices are very reasonable and more so during their big sales.

OMG...I was in shoe and boot heaven. I was waking along Vaci when the sign on the store front just reeled me in like a fish on a hook. I am obsessed with shoes, namely boots and sexy sandals and this place had a large selection of both. I must have tried on the whole store narrowing down my purchase finally to a "fierce" pair of HOT BOOTS (according to the girls here at work, *wink*). The price was just right, I only wished I could have taken a few more home with me, but there just weren't many my size, sigh.
What To Buy: Pair of Hot Boots of course.
What To Pay: I paid about the average boot price in the store, $130 US on sale for the pair I purchased, but there were others on the lower price range as well as higher price range.

When I happened to come upon this arcade I was so pleasantly surprised at what was inside. The arcade houses small shops and many books stores along with a cafe all within this Sessision style building. The iron work was amazing with its attention to minor little details. I was in heaven, there is a travel shop located in this arcade and I browsed around for what seemed hours. I purchase a wonderful book here. Lighting was quite poor and for some reason I just couldn't get a great photo.
What To Buy: I purchased a wonderful book about the history of Budapest
What To Pay: About $15 US

This quaint little shop located here on Vaci had some wonderful Hungarian inspired crafts and dolls. I loved their store window decorations.
What To Buy: I came back the next day to pick up some of their unique dolls and a few Christmas ornaments.

Prior to going into Zara I walked into this store looking for a sweater and belt. This store is located at Mihaly Vorosmarty Square on Vaci. The store has a large selection of clothing but I didn't find what I was looking for. If you are here in January, you're in luck, the store has a huge sale during this time.

SpagBoll Mon Sep 14, 2009 15:46 UTC Nice Budapest pages. I was sorry to read of your loss. Happy travels. | diligaf Wed Sep 2, 2009 18:08 UTC I would love the name of a store in Budapest where I can find "authentic" Hungarian clothes...not the stuff I can find anywhere. Thanks. | illumina Thu Jul 16, 2009 01:36 UTC Very sorry for your loss, so awful to be so far from home at the time. You have a wonderful page here. | mvtouring Tue Jul 14, 2009 12:04 UTC It is sad when we lose loved ones and even worse when we are in foreign countries. I was in Singapore when my father passed on. Still you managed to write lovely tips ;-) |
