Multi-cultural Queens

Where my Ferni and I called home

Me & my Ferni
After a year of going back and forth from my apartment in Midtown Manhattan to Ferni's in Queens, we finally decided to move in together and make his place our place.

I had lived in Queens over 15 years ago so it didn't take too long before I was feeling at home again, especially living is such a diverse borough where no matter what I want or need, I will definitely find it within a short distance.

We are getting ready to leave Queens behind us and move to our new home in Westchester County, but we will always have Queens!
We love watching movies on our 46" flat screen TV!
Queens is known as the most diverse of all the boroughs and with reason. There are so many different languages spoken in each town and no matter what nationalily you are, you will find that there is some small enclave here in Queens that will cater to that nation.
Ferni and I loved our time here in Queens when we got out and did all our exploring. We were centrally located to the major shopping centers, highways, great places to eat, parks, movie theatres, and of course, Ferni's Mets at Citi Field. I guess when you live in a neighborhood you rarely take your camera along for your day to day activities, so I haven't many pictures of places I've been to here in Queens, but I hope that the tips will help anyone looking for information about a great place to live, eat and have a good time.

Queens does have a large diversity of cultures and nationalities and of course there will be areas that are less "inviting" than others, but don't let that discourage you from venturing out for a visit here.

There are definitely many places here to discover, so come on out and explore!

SweetSpot on Forest Avenue is heaven for the sweet tooth. My favorite is Rocky Road - best I ever had. Family owned - very nice people. Always let you taste new flavors .... Now I'm so confused on what to get when I go in there.

My TV set broke! Your flatscreen is very inviting! How is life over at NYC? Greetings from Holland. PJ

My college roommate used to live in Queens, so I went over to visit sometimes. That was quite some time ago, however.

Nice restaurant tips. Joe's sounds like my kind of place. :)
