Adventures wherever we go

Cairo, I fell in love with this city, our trip to Egypt started with three days in Cairo, followed by a cruise ship up the Nile to Hurghada, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, and stopping of course on the way to Ombo Kombo, and Edfu. I personally experienced a warm welcome and enjoyed my few days in this city.

Like any trip, ours was not without its problems. As we arrived at the airport we realized that Mom's luggage did not appeaar. We made a claim and headed out of the airport to our hotel. As we arrive at the hotel there was some sort of mix up with our reservation, and there were no rooms. The hotel made some calls and was able to find a much nicer hotel for the night.

We ventured out to explore the city, while my Mom anxiously awaited for her luggage to appear. The luggage didn't arrive until the day before our departure from Cairo, but Mom was covered, she was smart enough to include in her carry-on bag a few outfits and some personal items.

Because this was our first trip outside of the usual Europe, we were a bit surprised to see that the city is very dirty, congested with traffic and very polluted. The air quality is very poor. One thing that was comforting was the presence of police officers guarding the major tourist attractions, hotels and other locations where the tourist could be found.

My experience was a very heart warming and awaking. I didn't experience the beggers, but in contrast did experience the warmth of the friendly Egyptians.

I've deleted my pictures on this page, I'll be updating and adding some new information. Just taking me a bit longer than I thought.
