Located in the heart of Latin Quarter this hotel was exactly what I was looking for during my very first visit back in the late 1990's. The hotel is really quaint on the outside with the charming balconies from which it derives its name from. The lobby is small but very charming. The owners are friendly and very knowledgable and will assist you in any question you may have regarding Paris. I was traveling on my own druing this very first visit and I wanted to be in a centrally located area. The metro stop is a few blocks and so is the Odeon theatre, many eateries and walking distance to the Luxembourg gardens. A very hip and centrally located hotel with a very good price. I paid $75 a night for a single.
Unique Qualities: The hotel is centrally located in the St. Germain des Pres area, close to the Palace du Luxembourg and the Pantheon, movie theatres and many cafes and shops. The metro stop is the O'deon.

Finding a place to stay in Paris should be simple enough, right? Well, after countless searches, emails and checking availability of hotels we were willing to say in, we decided on this hotel. A two star hotel in Paris, it is centrally located in the 6 arr. The hotel is clean, has no elevator and the room was a decent enough size. Only a few blocks from the River Siene and Notre Dame, D'Orsay and a few other landmarks, we knew we had choosen the right place for us. My stay here was during my visit in February, 2004.
Unique Qualities: There is a lift that allows only one person and one bag at a time. The staircase is so croocked you think you will fall to the side from the incline and the buffet breakfast made this hotel an interesting yet comfortable place to stay.

I was searching for a centrally located hotel to stay in during my 40th birthday celebration visit 2004. My only criteria was that it should be reasonably priced and centrally located. I called my friend who works for an executive who owns many hotels throughout the world and she said she could get me a decent rate at this hotel. I jumped at the opportunity and booked our 3 nights stay. More info to follow...
